COSTUME PICTURE SHEETS:

  • Your class “costume picture sheet” will tell you everything you need to know about your costume(s) and how it is to be worn! You can find your costumes at the button above. Simply click your class on the schedule. These will be up between now and recital for you to refer to at any time!

    • If the costume is shown in multiple colors, we are sorry, but we cannot guarantee a certain color for your child. Many factors go into who gets what color and it can always change depending on choreography, formations, number of students, etc.

    • If you have a character costume (for example: an animal, a sailor, a decade costume, etc.), please know that these often end up being people’s favorites and the most memorable! They make for a great show with scenery and props on stage! Recital would be boring and monotonous if it consisted of only pink frilly costumes over and over again.

    • *Costumes are subject to change and are dependent upon vendor availability.

      SHOES AND TIGHTS:

    • If your shoes are not the color listed - we do not expect you to buy a new pair of shoes! Instead, you can just spray paint them! We will be selling special shoe paint in the office for $12 a can. Simply stuff the shoes with newspaper and give them a couple light coats. (This doesn’t need to be done until picture week in the Spring. There is no rush right now).

    • At Miss Kelley’s - we include all tights! Do not worry about buying certain tights to go with their costumes. (We would recommend not opening these tights until picture week, and then putting them away again until recital to keep them nice and clean).

    • If you would like to trade in your tights for a different size or skin tone, please stop by the office with your original tights to return in their original packaging.

    • Please remember, as dancers, your shoes should match your tights to continue the leg line. Pink tights = pink shoes, tan tights = tan shoes.

    MEASUREMENTS/COSTUME CONVERSIONS:

  • To come up with your child’s costume sizes, we measure and use the following: inseam, bust, waist, hips, girth, and girth plus 3 inches. Costume companies recommend adding these 3 inches for grow room. Remember that recital is over 6 months away! Girth is the most important measurement that we take into account when comparing a child’s measurements to a company’s size chart. Bigger is always better! A costume can be easily taken up, but not as easily let out. Please know that we have never had a student not be able to perform because of a costume not fitting.

    • The costumes are ready made and are not custom made. Therefore parents may have to attach a strap, skirt or accessory and make minor adjustments and alterations. We are sorry, but Miss Kelley’s cannot be responsible for your alterations.

    • If you have any questions about what size your child was placed in or how we arrived at that size, feel free to email costumes@misskelleys.com. You may override the size selected by your child’s teacher, but you must do so BY NOVEMBER 1st AT THE LATEST. (Any exchanges made in the spring are subject to a $15 exchange/shipping fee).

    • Upon receiving your costume(s), if you have any problems or would like to exchange the costume for another size, you MUST let your teacher know on costume night. Please remember, that we cannot guarantee a replacement’s arrival in time for pictures or recital. Remember that these costumes are not custom made, and often simple and easy alterations can fix small sizing issues! Any exchanges made at this time are subject to a $15 exchange/shipping fee.

    • Please remember that your account must be in good standing in order for us to order your costume on time. We apologize, but because we have to pay for the costumes in full at the time of the order, there can be no exceptions to this rule. If your costume must be late ordered, you are subject to a separate shipping and handling fee.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY:

  • Please remember that the deadline for withdrawal without being financially responsible for costumes is October 9th! If you do withdraw after costumes have been ordered, we are sorry, but we cannot hold these costumes indefinitely - you have until April 5th to pick up your costumes. Thank you!
